Help “Give a Little Extra Love” to kids in need. Children of all ages typically arrive at a foster home with just the clothes on their backs. Help us create “comfort kits” for these children to have something to call their own.
What is a “comfort kit”?
A bag filled with basic comforts: blanket, lovie blanket, stuffed animal, toothbrush & toothpaste, body wash, shampoo/conditioner, book or craft, duffel bag with water bottle.
At “Give a Little Extra Love” night we will be assembling polar fleece tie blankets. Plus we will be sorting donations and putting together the actual kits.
What a great way for the whole family to “Give a Little Extra Love.”
Team Young Scholars was very successful raising funds with our Summer Program Art Show, as well as our Blue Ribbon Month Pinwheels. Plus our partnership with Girl Scout Cadet Troop 96 was a success. These Girls Scouts cut and prepared all 100 blankets last year and helped organize and run the event. We are excited to partner again this year with this amazing group of girls. These girls are also doing fund raising on their own to raise additional funds for Give a Little Extra Love Night.
This year’s goal is 125 comfort kits.
If you would like to donate to our “Give a Little Extra Love” night we have a few different opportunities for you.
We will have a donation jar on the front desk for loose change & other monetary donations.
If you would like to donate a blanket kit = $10 (please see a director)
A complete comfort kit = $20 (please see a director)
Please have donations dropped off by Friday, February 17.
