The Director of Development, has been with Young Scholars since 2007. She started out as the Lead Teacher in the three year-old classroom and has been a role model to many Young Scholars’ Educators. In the fall of 2015 she became the Director of Curriculum working with state and national agencies to promote quality in services offered at Young Scholars Child Care Center earning us an IL Excelerate Silver Circle of Excellence. Chrys now holds the title of Director of Development taking on the overall development of the center, along with individual students, teachers and parents. Chrys has a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and is a Certified Child Life Specialist. Chrys also holds the following certifications: First Aid & CPR, Food Sanitation Management, Basic Water Safety, Assessment Analysis. She holds the following IL Excelerate Credentials: Director Level 2, ECE Level 5, Infant Toddler Level 5. Chrys and her husband were foster parents who adopted three beautiful children. Chrys has created a non-for-profit organization, “Give A Little Extra Love,” to create comfort kits for foster children in honor of her girls. She is always busy and engaged in all of her children’s sports and activities in the community.
